The Diggers & Dealers conference, considered one of the most important mining events in Australia, ended this Wednesday in Kalgoorlie, Australia. For 3 days, more than 2600 participants had the opportunity to attend 70 corporate presentations of mining and exploration companies and to visit more than 159 industry stands.

Mauricio Saldías, Country Manager of Pares&Alvarez Australia, explains that the event has been held for 31 years in Kalgoorlie and emerged as an instance to bring together local gold producers (diggers) with investors (dealers). “Kal is the unofficial gold mining capital of Australia and today the conference incorporates topics related to other minerals, such as iron, copper, lithium, nickel, potash and vanadium, among others” adds the executive.

The event aims for industry professionals to meet and establish contacts, visit regional mining sites, interact with the media, raise funds and invest in projects. In this regard, Saldías explains that his participation as a delegate allowed him to raise awareness of the P&A brand and the services offered by the company. “We opened the Perth office just over a year ago, so initiatives like this allow us to strengthen relationships within the industry and establish new contacts.”

One of the special features of the event is that the city where it is held is small and in the middle of the desert, 600 km east of Perth, which facilitates opportunities to meet the most senior leaders in the Australian mining industry.

Pares&Alvarez offices are in Perth, Western Australia, a city that is considered the Mining Capital of Australia, due to the fact that the some of the main world producers of iron, lithium, nickel and gold are located in the region.
